Operations Manager
Job Description & Requirements
Minocqua Winter Park is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team. As the largest land-trust held conservation easement in Wisconsin, we are dedicated to serving outdoor enthusiasts through our trails, programming, and events. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of park operations, ensuring a safe and optimal experience for all users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining expertise in various park operations, including skiing, tubing, snowshoeing, skijoring, biking, disc golf, and future operations like snowmaking.
- Creating and executing plans for efficient management of Foundation equipment and park infrastructure, adhering to regulatory and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI). This includes the Tubing Hill, Ice Skating Pond, equipment, and equipment barn, as well as routine lift and equipment inspections.
- Collaborating with the General Manager to recruit employees and volunteers for recreation operations, such as tube attendants and the trails team.
- Regularly assessing trail and weather conditions to ensure an optimal and safe user experience.
- Training and scheduling employees and volunteers for both winter and summer trail work.
- Updating and advising the General Manager on any concerning or abnormal conditions or incidents.
- Providing excellent customer service to trail users, donors, landowners, and Foundation partners.
- Completing administrative tasks, required reporting, and documentation promptly.
- Participating in monthly staff meetings.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work weekends, events, and holidays as needed, and be comfortable working outdoors in adverse conditions.
