About
We’re gearing up for an incredible 2025/2026 season with a bold goal to raise $50K to fuel our mission. Your donation of any amount makes a huge difference and ensures that Minocqua Winter Park continues to thrive as a year-round destination for outdoor adventure, community events, and environmental stewardship. A few projects that your donations will help support:
Pay off the remaining debt on equipment (~$15,000)
Offset rising insurance premiums and Chalet maintenance needs (~$25,000)
Automate the Chalet and Park entry and install smart gates/kiosks (~$10,000)
Thanks to a generous donor—who will be matching every dollar raised—you can double your donation by giving today! If we reach our goal, you could help us unlock $100,000 overall!
Outdoor Adventure
Minocqua Winter Park (MWP) has been the epicenter of outdoor adventure in the Northwoods since 1979, when a group of cross country ski friends founded the park. We’ve grown every year since then, adding more and more ski trails to the system, constructing snowshoe trails in the 90’s, installing a tubing hill, and maintaining a natural ice skating pond in the 2000’s. We were honored to be voted the #1 Cross Country Ski Resort by a 2023 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Contest. Most recently, we are building a new pavilion at the Squirrel Lookout and improving the tubing hill.
And the excitement doesn’t stop there! MWP has now fully embraced four-season fun with the construction of the single-track mountain bike trails and 18-hole disc golf course. You can help us continue our amazing legacy of outdoor adventure by donating to our fundraising campaign.
Environmental Stewardship
Did you know that 3,195 acres of MWP (almost half of the park’s total acreage) are in a Conservation Easement? The Winter Park Pines Conservation Easement was formed in 2011 and continues to be the largest private conservation easement donation to a land trust in Wisconsin. Furthermore, placing this land in a conservation easement allowed a large swath of MWP’s trail system to remain intact.
The park is full of amazing flora and fauna, high-quality waterways, and amazing wetland habitats. MWP’s passion for environmental stewardship is evident through an array of year-round programs and activities. For instance, our 5-year participation in citizen science programs—including Snapshot Wisconsin and the Bluebird Restoration Association of Wisconsin, organizing wildlife speakers, and the installation of a new pollinator garden.
Community Events
From the beginning, Minocqua Winter Park Foundation has offered unique, memorable, and exciting community events. The Foundation works tirelessly to enrich the Lakeland Community by providing diverse experiences of unparalleled quality. Did you know that the Park held its first nordic ski race in January 1980? The Park’s past events ranged from high school state ski championships to epic mud runs, from spring telemark races to crazy costume ski relays. Today, we still offer a variety of fun, wacky, educational, and competitive events across all 4 seasons. By donating to the $50k to Continue the Mission Fundraiser, you can help Minocqua Winter Park continue to provide amazing community events for all generations to enjoy.
