Trails crews have been checking conditions on the trails and have decided to go ahead with the Moose Tracks Snowshoe Race/Tour scheduled for this Saturday, January 4th at 10:00am!
Route & Equipment
The route, originally planned to be held on Fox Trot Snowshoe Trail, will be moved to the Base Loop Ski Trail for better snow quality. The race will now be run as a two-lap format with a total distance now close to 4.4km instead of 5km. Groomers will lightly resurface the trail, but expect there to be a very firm base. Because of this, snowshoes are REQUIRED for this event. The Minocqua Winter Park Ski Shop will be open for rentals if you do not have your own snowshoes. Costumes are encouraged and all racers are welcome to be as competitive, or not, as they like.
Registration
Online registration is open until 11:59 pm on Friday, January 3rd. Day-of registration is available at the Chalet until 9:45 am on January 4th. The prices increases for those registering on race day, so don’t delay!
Giveaways & Participant Meal
All racers will receive a commemorative pin, a post race baked potato bar, and free beer or n/a beverage of choice. Awards to the top three overall and in each age group.
